This is a reproduction David Thompson’s map of Lake Superior following its survey in 1822. It was the second map of Lake Superior Thompson created, the first in 1798, and was the most accurate portrayal of Lake Superior produced at that time. Thompson’s Lake Superior would be plagiarized for half a century all around the world.
